Hochsteinalm

Welcome to the Hochsteinalm! The alpine holiday home located in a quiet, secluded area, surrounded by lush meadows and forests on the Mühlbachberg in the municipality of Traunkirchen by the beautiful Traunsee.
The house is in a sunny location. Rustic on the outside and modern and cozy on the inside. A perfect holiday destination for those seeking relaxation and peace with a fantastic view. It is approx. 4 kilometers from the Hochsteinalm to the town of Traunkirchen. In Traunkirchen you will find smaller shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and shopping opportunities. Hochsteinalm is accessible via a forest road (good condition). In winter this road transforms into a natural toboggan run so the access to the house is limited! In winter snow chains or a four-wheel drive vehicle is recommended. Parking spaces are located directly in front of the house.

The nearest ski resort is the Feuerkogel family ski area, which can be reached in approx. 14 kilometers.

The family-friendly Feuerkogel ski area offers:

• 13 varied, well-groomed kilometers of slopes with modern snowmaking systems
• 6 kilometer long unprepared ski variant into the valley
• Dragon park with Franzi the shy dragon for children
• Ski and snowboard school

Other winter activities would be:

• Tobogganing - there is a natural toboggan run right in front of the house
• Cross-country skiing - 14 kilometers of perfectly prepared trails around the Langbathseen
• Ice skating
• Snowshoeing
• Toboggan run directly past the house

In winter conditions in December, January, February and March the hous can only be reached on foot. Luggage transport and shuttle service will be provided!

The area around the Hochsteinalm is perfect for hiking. The hiking tours start directly from the hut and end there. Both beginner tours and challenging routes are available. On the way, managed alpine pastures invite you to enjoy a hearty snack.
