Josef-Speckbacher-Hütte

Josef Speckbacher was a Tyrolean freedom fighter and lived from 1767 to 1820. In 1800 and 1805 he fought against the French occupying troops. In 1809 he fought alongside Andreas Hofer in the three battles on Bergisel. Even today, Speckbacher is considered an excellent tactician.
Due to Josef Speckbacher's history, the Josef Speckbacher cabin is a special Tyrolean original in terms of architecture. The cabin, built from the finest wood, is located on a sunny hillside above the town of Mayrhofen in the Zillertal. The town center of Mayrhofen can be reached in just a few minutes on foot. Mayrhofen is the most attractive place in the holiday paradise of the Zillertal. In addition to restaurants serving Tyrolean specialties and countless shopping opportunities, all kinds of attractions and entertainment options are offered to guests. The cabin can be reached by car all year round. There is a parking space for one car directly in front of the house. Pets are welcome.
