Chalet Schareck

The Chalet Schareck is situated in idyllic and quiet location on a small hill on the valley floor of Bucheben with a picturesque view of the Schareck mountain. The rustic atmosphere at the edge of the forest and a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains invite you to linger and relax and guarantee a relaxing holiday for the whole family. The Hüttwinkeltal is also known for its historic gold and silver mining. Even today, guests can try their luck at the original gold mining site.
A small grocery store “Kathrins Laden” with fresh regional products can be reached in approx. 250 meters. The nearest larger town is Rauris, which can be reached in about 8 kilometers. Here you will find many cafes, inns and supermarkets. The chalet can be reached by car all year round. There are enough parking spaces directly in front of the chalet. Pets are welcome at Chalet Schareck.

Chalet Schareck is the ideal starting point for long hikes to the numerous alpine pastures and the side valleys of the Rauris. The nearby Krumltal with its romantic waterfalls is worth seeing. There are guided hikes there to observe bearded vultures.
Other Alpine animals such as griffon vultures, white-headed vultures, marmots and chamois can also be observed in the wild. The Kolm Saigurn valley head is a popular starting point for demanding mountain or ski tours on the three-thousanders such as the Sonnblick, the Schareck or the Hocharn.
In addition to the well-developed hiking network, mountain bikers also get their money's worth: there are many paths and trails to discover and conquer.
There is a tennis court nearby. You can cool off on hot summer days in Lake Zell, in the Rauris bathing center (9km from the chalet) or in the Tauern Spa Kaprun.

Right next to the most beautiful cross-country ski run in the valley, Chalet Schareck is the ideal starting point for winter activities. Your day of cross-country skiing can start directly from the chalet without having to travel long distances. The best place to start a perfect day of skiing is at the valley station of the Rauriser Hochalmbahn in the Rauristal ski area, which is only about 10 minutes away .

The ski area is situated at an altitude of 2,200 meters and offers:

• 32 kilometers of slopes
• 10 ski lifts or cable cars
• Ski school/ski kindergarten
• 1 toboggan run
• 28 km of cross-country ski trails
• 1 snow park

A special program is offered for children at the Kreuzbodenhütte. The offer includes, for example, a visit to the farm or torchlight hikes.
There are also other ski areas to choose from, such as the Kaprun/Kitzsteinhorn, Zell am See and Gastein ski areas, just a 30-minute drive from Chalet Schareck. If you want to leave the car, the nearest ski bus stop is only 100 meters from the chalet.
